Depending on your age, you may be required to have the Certificate of Completion in order to legally buy a license or permit to hunt.
A resident is a person who has lived in Arizona for six months. Active-duty military members are considered residents.
All Arizona residents age 10 or older must have a resident hunting license.
All non-residents age 10 or older must have a non-resident hunting license.
Arizona residents and non-residents under the age of 10 may hunt without a license (except when hunting big game). They must be accompanied by a licensed person age 18 or older.
Arizona residents and non-residents ages 10 to 17 must purchase a Youth Combination Hunting and Fishing License.
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who have achieved the highest awards for their organizations can obtain the reduced-fee High Achievement Scout License. These individuals must be residents of Arizona. Contact the Arizona Game and Fish Department for more details.
Arizona residents who are 70 years of age or older and who have lived in Arizona for at least 25 years may qualify for the free Pioneer License.
Arizona does not offer a hunting license specifically for people with disabilities except for resident veterans with 100% disability.
Active-duty military members who are stationed in Arizona may purchase a resident hunting license. In addition, active-duty military members who are Arizona residents but stationed elsewhere may purchase a resident hunting license.
Resident veterans who have 100% service-connected disability and who have lived at least one year in Arizona may qualify for the free Disabled Veteran License.
All hunters age 16 or older must purchase the Federal Duck Stamp when hunting migratory waterfowl. All hunters age 18 or older must purchase the Arizona Migratory Bird Stamp. In addition, hunters are required to have proof of their participation in the Harvest Information Program (HIP).
Hunting licenses are good for 365 days from the date of purchase. Arizona residents are able to purchase a lifetime hunting license.
